Session 1 - Hypnobirthing and Positive Mindset
How will this session help me?
-Many birthing families go into labour and birth anxious and scared.
-Hypnobirthing and Positive mindset techniques will help change your mindset for a positive and empowering birth experience no matter how you plan to birth your baby.
What does this session cover?
Uterus and Hypnobirthing Science, Relaxation, hypnosis and breathing techniques for pregnancy and labour, debunking fear around birth and creating a positive mindset, hypnobirthing to support pain expectations and management during labour, anchoring and visualisation, positive affirmations.
*All of our sessions will include breathing techniques, and positive mindset birth relaxations. How hypnobirthing can be used at different points during the pregnancy, labour and birth process (including all types of birth) will also be discussed across all sessions.
Session 2 - Guided Birth Planning and Pregnancy, labour and birth positioning
How will this session help me?
- If you want control over your birth experience, planning is key.
- As we learn about the labour and birth experience, you will be guided in making your birth plans and that includes plans for if your birth doesn't pan out the way you expect it to.
What does this session cover?
The Hormones of labour, choosing where to birth your baby, Positive C-sections, unplanned homebirth preparedness, getting your baby into a good position for birth, labour and birth positions, how to be a supportive birth partner, packing your birth bag, pelvic floor and perineal massage
Session 3 - Birth Rights, Advocacy, Navigating the the Maternity System and Positive and informed Inductions
How will this session help me?
The current UK maternity system is a minefield. One of the biggest complaints from birthers is that they didn't realise they had rights, choices or any control over their birth. Knowing what your rights are, how to advocate for them and make informed decisions about your care can help you take control and empower you to birth on your terms - not the systems.
What will this session cover?
Birth interventions - are they making us safer?, personal risk assessment and tolerance, your birth rights, language used by HCPS, making an informed decision about your care, advocacy tips, advocating as a birth partner, the induction process, how to make your induction informed and positive.
Session 4 - The Stages Labour and Birthing your baby
How will this session help me?
Not sure what the different stages of labour are like? Worried about when to leave for the hospital or call the midwife? We will walk through what the big day looks like, what you can expect and what twists and turns you might meet on the way.
What will this session cover?
Estimated due dates (and why they are problematic), early labour and getting to your birth space, active labour, what to do if labour slows or stops, transition and the pushing stage, birth breathing, crowning and tearing, optimal cord clamping, birthing your placenta, Vitamin K, Golden hour and skin to skin, breastfeeding initiation for those that are choosing to do so.
Session 5 - Planning and preparing for the Post Natal Period
How will this session help me?
Learn how to prepare for the days and weeks after your babies arrival. How can you support yourself and be supported by others through what can be a life changing and challenging time.
What will this session cover?
World to womb transition - normal infant behaviour Vs cause for concern, what will the early days look like, navigating the early days of breastfeeding and when to get support, safely preparing a formula feed and positioning your baby for bottle feeding, infant sleep expectations and safe sleep, car seat safety, how to use a baby sling safely, creating a home support plan for the early post natal days, visitor boundaries, navigating birth trauma, relationship changes and expectations, babies and pets - how your relationship with your pet might change.
Session 6 - FREE Optional reunion and post-natal support session
How will this session help me?
Socialising with other parents and knowing you are going through similar experiences in the early days can be hugely beneficial. Need support postnatally? Come and talk through your worries and questions all things post-natal with a friendly face in our relaxed and welcoming session.
What will this session cover?
A free of charge, additional session to introduce your babies and catch up. The kettle will be on and cakes at the ready as we support each other, share stories and chat all thing baby and post-natal. There will be plenty of opportunity to chat through any worries that you have and signpost you to any additional support you may need.
