Worcestershire Royal Hospital is located in Ronkswood, Worcester. It is easily accessible from Evesham, Pershore, Droitwitch, Malvern & Redditch. It has a drop off zone outsitide of the front entrance

Worcestershire Royal Hospital is the counties central hub for maternity facilities. Whiltst antenatal appointments and scans may take place in the community or at one of the other country hospitals, It is the only hospital setting in the county that facilitates birth. It provides consultant led care, midwife led care, a midwife led birth centre, antenatal, labour and postnatal wards, theatre birth, Neo Natal and Transitional Care, Bereavement care and antenatal and postnatal services.  
 

The Meadow Birth Centre is a midwife led birth space that exists within the maternity section of the hospital. It provides a "home from home" like environment for women and birthing people. They are specifically designed with your birthing hormones in mind to support physiological birth where possible. If additional care is needed, the obstetric led unit is right next door. The Meadow Birth Centre is fully equipped with birthing pools, birth balls, dim, calming lighting and lots of space to keep active during labour.

The delivery suite is staffed by midwives and obstetric doctors. It designed to care for women and birthing people who have chosen consultant led care, epidural, induction, closer monitoring or a caesarean section or instrumental birth. Birth on the delivery suite can still be calm and positive, particularly with the right birth prep and antenatal education.  

Yes! Each room of the Meadow Birth Centre is equipped with a birth pool and there is a birthing pool room on the delivery suite too. It is important to be aware that use will depend on availability. For those with certain "high risk" labels, access to the birth pool may need to be discussed with the trusts consultant midwife.
